  • Apple will switch computers to its own ARM processor. The chipset will contain components that are also responsible for machine learning and neural computing. However, the chip itself has not yet been shown to us. As for the transition to new processors from the software side, everything should be relatively smooth. Developers will be provided with tools (Xcode, Universal 2) that allow them to easily adapt their applications to work on Apple's ARM processors. The company is already working with Microsoft and Adobe to add compatibility between Microsoft Office and Creative Cloud applications. Apple plans to introduce the first Mac device equipped with its own ARM processor by the end of this year. In General, the transition should take two years. At the same time, the company will continue to support Mac computers equipped with Intel processors and release system updates for them. In addition, Apple will introduce new devices equipped with Intel chips.
  • ML Kit becomes a separate product. Google takes the ML Suite from Firebase and makes it a separate product. The new ML Kit SDK will not depend on the presence of Firebase in the project and will focus entirely on machine learning directly on devices. This will speed up its operation, improve its offline operation, and increase data security and privacy. ML Kit can now solve the tasks of scanning barcodes, detecting faces and objects in photos, recognizing text, translating, creating intelligent responses, and much more. A new website was opened for ML Kit: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/

  • AWS has launched the Amazon Honeycode app Builder. Amazon has launched its own application Builder, Honeycode. This will allow people who don't know programming to create web and mobile apps. All of them, of course, will run on AWS. Like similar tools, Honeycode provides users with a set of templates for common tasks-maintaining to-do lists, tracking customers, surveys, schedules, and inventory management. AWS says that so far, many companies rely on shared tables to perform these tasks. Currently, Honeycode only works in AWS US West in Oregon, but it should soon be available in other regions as well. Among the first clients of Honeycode are SmugMug and Slack.
